The EP (which we eventually titled Lazarus in the Closet ) was my attempt to sonically document the first two decades of my existence. But I couldn’t finish it alone. I couldn’t even start it properly until the Celavie Group was formed—and that formation only happened because of a patch. The name “Celavie” came from a mistranslation. A French neighbor once said “C’est la vie” (such is life) after my backpack was stolen.
