hddreg.exe /SP 4 This sets the speed priority. Default is 3. Setting it to 4 or 5 reduces verification time but increases risk of missed sectors. Stick to default for data safety. Error 1: "No hard drive found!" Cause: SATA mode is set to AHCI with RAID overlap, or the BIOS locked the drive. Fix: Enter BIOS, change SATA Operation from RAID On or Intel RST to AHCI . (Note: Changing this may cause Windows to bluescreen on next boot unless you install AHCI drivers first). Error 2: "USB boots to a black screen with blinking cursor." Cause: Bad ISO write or UEFI conflict. Fix: Re-write the ISO using Rufus in "DD Image Mode" (Rufus will ask you this when writing old ISOs. Click "Write in DD mode"). Error 3: "Repair takes 48 hours and freezes at 93%." Cause: The drive has an uncorrectable physical servo error. Fix: Terminate the scan. Accept that the drive is doomed . Copy critical data off now via a USB adapter before running any more repairs.
