The pageant began in 2018 at the La Sablière resort in the Ardèche region. It was created not by titillating media moguls, but by Sylvie Cécillon, a former contestant in the Miss Poitou-Charentes pageant who grew disillusioned with the "plastic perfection" of clothed competitions.
